Seema Bacon

Seema Bacon, MA, ATR-BC, LPC

Clinical Director | she/her

"Do not think you ever have to tell me your story in order to truly heal, what you need is to be able to allow yourself to FEEL your story to move through the experience and cross over to the other side of what life holds for you."

-Seema Bacon

A sense of intrigue from the first moment you meet her, Seema exudes a genuine and authentic presence; nurturing acceptance and a palette of curiosity. Seema meets individuals where they are, helping guide them through their darkness, and allowing them to find balance between the polarities within themselves. As co-founder of Taproot Therapy, Seema extends this to create an empowering culture where voices are heard and people are seen. As Clinical Director of Taproot, Seema brings a similar perspective into her clinical supervision realm where she provides consistent, humanistic approaches that help her supervisees see themselves as more than clinicians. Her belief is that helping them embody their clinical role as part of their core identity will allow them to truly discover, grow, and develop into the healers they are meant to become.

Seema has extensive experience working with sexual violence, beginning her clinical work as a Rape Crisis Counselor in 2005, providing supportive reflection and advocacy guidance for those impacted within inner city Chicago. For years Seema continued similar clinical work going into the homes of sexually abused children and adolescents, working with the victims and providing support for the families and community impacted by the sexual violence. Seema continued with different layers of advocacy work, eventually transitioning her to Arizona, where Seema began work within the Gila River Indian Community. Seema provided therapeutic supportive services to those 3 years and older, impacted by sexual and domestic violence. After seven years of intensive work, Seema left community mental health to begin Taproot Therapy.
