Jill Banks, MA, LAC

Therapist | she/her

"You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."

-Winnie the Pooh

Jill approaches therapy through a person‑centered lens and believes deeply in each individual’s capacity to understand their own thoughts, feelings, and lived experiences. Guided by the belief that people thrive when met with empathy, validation, and genuine presence, she creates a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. While her foundation is rooted in person‑centered therapy, Jill thoughtfully integrates CBT, DBT, mindfulness‑based practices, and solution‑focused strategies to meet clients where they are. Her calm, grounding energy helps clients slow down, explore their inner world, and move through stressors with greater clarity and self‑trust.

Working with children ages five and up, adolescents, and young adults, Jill is especially passionate about serving LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities. As a member of both communities, she is committed to advocacy, representation, and increasing access to affirming mental health care. Jill provides a warm, compassionate, and collaborative environment — someone who walks alongside her clients rather than leading from ahead. She views therapy as an ongoing process of growth shaped by our environments, relationships, and experiences. With each session, Jill supports clients in learning, unlearning, and evolving toward a more grounded and empowered version of themselves.
