"We may not be responsible for the world that created our minds, but we can take responsibility for the mind with which we create our world."

-Gabor Maté

Dani’s work is grounded in cultural humility and an awareness of how systems, politics, and power dynamics can shape mental health, identity, and access to care. She approaches therapy with respect for each client’s social, cultural, and historical context, recognizing that distress is shaped by broader personal, social, and systemic influences. You may have spent a lot of time trying to fit into spaces that weren’t made for you. Therapy with Dani is a space where you don’t have to mask, explain, or shrink yourself. Dani believes that everyone is an expert in themselves and their experience, but sometimes it can be helpful to have a compassionate guide to help explore those experiences, uncover patterns, and navigate challenges with a fresh perspective and support.

Dani's career began with her working with individuals experiencing extreme poverty, mental health crises, and high barriers to care in environments like the Arizona foster care system, Gila River Indian Community, and inside the criminal justice system, which have deeply shaped her understanding of trauma, human nature, and resilience. These experiences laid the groundwork for her counseling practice, which centers on empathy, compassion, and a trauma-informed approach to healing.
